Marianne Faithfull Diagnosed with Breast Cancer

Singer and actress Marianne Faithfull, 59, has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer. She has postponed her upcoming tour.

Faithfull, whose career began in the 1960s after she was discovered at a Rolling Stones launch party, has had several hit singles including "As Tears Go By," "Come and Stay with Me," and "Summer Nights."

The star said: "I have absolute faith and confidence in my fantastic medical team and of course I will be well again, if not better than ever. Next year's tour, I want to assure fans, will be one big celebration."
