Larry Birkhead Is the Father, Virgie Wants Joint Custody

After weeks of court battles and media madness, the man we all knew was the father of Nicole Smith's baby, Larry Birkhead, has been officially declared the father. Howard Stern says he won't fight it and will give the baby to Larry.

Case closed, right? Not quite. Now Anna Nicole's mother, Virgie Arthur, is going to fight Birkhead for joint custody of Dannielynn. This baby just might be the most fought after in the history of the world.

As for any potential bid by Arthur to wrangle custody of Dannielynn away from Birkhead, he told Access Hollywood that joint guardianship, well-intended or not, is out of the question. As would be a reconciliation should such a legal battle take place.

"This is my child and I'm going to raise it," he said. "For someone to fight me and them come back after they lose and say they want to see the baby, that's going to be difficult for me. So if you fight me now, you might have to fight me later."
