Kurt Vonnegut Dead at 84
Literary legend Kurt Vonnegut has died at 84 after suffering brain injuries from a fall several weeks ago. Vonnegut's novels include "Cat's Cradle," "Breakfast of Champions," and "Slaughterhouse-Five." He was also a prolific essayist and social commentator.
"There was never a kinder and, at the same time, wittier writer to be with personally," author Tom Wolfe, a friend and admirer of Vonnegut's, told The Times. "He was just a gem in that respect. And as a writer, I guess he's the closest thing we had to a Voltaire. He could be extremely funny, but there was a vein of iron always underneath it, which made him quite remarkable."

All the greats are dying off on us.

This is so sad. :(
He was a great writer, I learned about him in 7th grade, and read a lot of his writing. I'm so sad about this.
