'Bridget Jones' Author Helen Fielding Has Baby

Author Helen Fielding, 48, has given birth to a baby girl. Fielding is the author of Bridget Jones' Diary and its sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, both of which have been made into popular movies starring Renée Zellweger as the chunky but lovable heroine. Her latest book is Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination.

This is the second child for the 48-year-old British writer and her longtime partner, Kevin Curran, 49. Curran is an Emmy-winning writer who has worked on The Simpsons, Married with Children and The Late Show with David Letterman.
