Good Morning America host Robin Roberts, who announced that she had early stage breast cancer last Tuesday, says her surgery on Friday went well.

"My family read many of your e-mails while I was in surgery," said Roberts, who has been an anchor at "GMA" since 2005. "It brought them such comfort. My big sis, Sally-Ann, marked all the survivor stories with a big S."

She said her co-anchor, Diane Sawyer, had visited her in the hospital.

GMA Coanchor Robin Roberts Has Breast Cancer

Good Morning America coanchor Robin Roberts, 46, has announced that she has early stage breast cancer. She wrote on the ABCNews.com website:

"It all started a few weeks ago. We had gotten the news that our dear colleague and friend Joel Siegel had passed away and we began preparing for our special tribute show for him. I did a piece about Joel's courageous battle with cancer, reporting on the way my friend had lived his life and been such a successful advocate for the importance of early cancer screenings.

"That very night when I went to bed, I did a self breast exam and found something that women everywhere fear: I found a lump."

Today, she spoke with Diane Sawyer and said, "I will get up like everybody else, I will go to work, I'll say 'Good Morning America,' I will have my good days and bad days, so be kind to me on the message board when I've had my bad days and the hair goes."

Columnist Molly Ivins Dies Fighting

Columnist and self-described "leftist agitator" Molly Ivins, 62, has died at home in Austin, Texas after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was first diagnosed in 1999 with stage III cancer. Over the past eight years she underwent several rounds of chemotherapy and many ups and downs in an effort to beat the cancer.

Last week, it was announced that her cancer was "back with a vengeance" and that she had been hospitalized. She entered hospice care and died on January 31st.

Her writing was often controversial. In a world of stiff political correctness, she wrote what she felt and made no apologies. She often skewered President Bush and members of his administration. President Bush made the following statement after her passing:

"I respected her convictions, her passionate belief in the power of words, and her ability to turn a phrase. She fought her illness with that same passion. Her quick wit and commitment to her beliefs will be missed."

A few years ago, she said:

"Keep fighting for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce."

No matter what your political beliefs, you would do well to be as fearless as Molly Ivins.

Kylie Minogue has cancelled two shows in her tour after coming down with a respiratory infection. The tour is her first after a successful battle against breast cancer, but a spokesman says the infection is not related to her cancer recovery.

Minogue, 38, was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. She underwent successful surgery in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, that month, followed by five months of chemotherapy in Paris.

Something Fishy About Sheryl Crow

Sheryl Crow talks about the food she ate during her battle with breast cancer. She was smart to eat loads of cancer-fighting salmon since many studies show that fish eaters have lower rates of cancer:

"I kind of went into a full-on Eskimo diet, where I ate a lot of salmon - in fact I'm salmoned out of my brains. "(I ate) a lot of Omega 6 instead of Omega 3 (acids), and really green vegetables, really clean organic food. "I haven't had a doughnut in I can't remember when."
